ICYMI TN-SEN THIS WEEK: HAGERTY SELLS INSIDER COVID RECOVERY INFO FOR CAMPAIGN CASH AS COVID-RELATED UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIMS SURPASS 500,000 IN TENNESSEE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 15, 2020

NASHVILLE – As U.S. Senate candidate Bill Hagerty shamelessly sold insider information from the White House COVID-19 Task Force yesterday for cold hard campaign cash in a conference call with fellow Task Force member Art Laffer, decorated Iraq war veteran James Mackler addressed local gun safety activists, earned endorsements from FireFighters and health care advocates, and launched a campaign store.

THE COMPANY HAGERTY KEEPS

Joining Larry “Air-tight” Kudlow in the disgraced Hagerty Economists’ Club this week is his fellow White House COVID-19 Task Force member Art Laffer, an economist known for inventing trickle-down economics and his own curve, who headlined a campaign fundraising call yesterday. In exchange for cold hard campaign cash, Laffer and Hagerty would “offer an informative perspective on the recovery efforts,” according to an email solicitation from Team Hagerty fundraiser Kim Kaegi. Among Laffer’s other economic theories is that minimum wage “makes no sense to me” as it’s just “the black teenage unemployment act.”

Sharing insider information seems to be a point of bonding for Hagerty and his friend,  insider-trading Senator David Perdue, who loaded up on stocks of Netflix and PPE after a senators-only briefing on the likely effects of the coronavirus in the U.S. Another insider-trading senator, Richard Burr, just got sidelined on the Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday, adding to last week when another insider-trading Senator Kelly Loeffler was forced to give up a committee assignment when it was found her former employer attempted to buy their future regulator with a golden parachute. Oh yeah – Hagerty does that too as his banking allies just handed him a multi-million dollar sweetheart loan to fund his campaign

HAGERTY: HEY – WHAT OFFICE ARE WE RUNNING FOR?

Hagerty’s videos this past week go after the WHO, China and the Bidens. One glaring omission from these digital Monets: Tennesseans and why he’s the best candidate to serve them for the next six years.

WHO GAVE THE INTERN BILL’S TWITTER PASSWORD?

Either 60-year old Bill Hagerty was introduced to gifs this past week or, an intern locked in a socially-distanced game of Simon Says worked around the clock trying to keep up with their leader’s tweets accusing a former president of committing “a very obvious crime.” Final tally: 14 tweets on #ObamaGate over the past five days. If Senator McConnell thinks Obama’s critique is “classless,” what does he have to say about his handpicked candidate Bill Hagerty’s Twitter feed? No wonder he says the majority is in play this fall.

TENNESSEE FIRE FIGHTERS ENDORSE MACKLER, AS HAGERTY SUPPORTS LEAVING THEM OUT TO DRY WITH THEIR CITIES’ FALLING ECONOMIC FORTUNES. No, this headline is not hyperbole. Hagerty, a Nashville resident, is all-in on Metro Nashville sucking it up on their COVID-induced $216 million tax revenue shortfall and a 32% tax increase. Already turning one’s back on your neighbors is an inauspicious place to be less than 6-months out from an election.

MACKLER CONTINUES TO MAKE HIS PITCH TO TENNESSEANS

James Mackler continued speaking directly to Tennesseans this week, joining Tennessee’s Moms Demand Action monthly meeting and taping a conversation with Tennessean Opinion Editor David Plazas for his Tennessee Voices series. James also filmed a public service announcement around safe gun storage

MUST SEE BILL TV THURSDAY

It seems Bill has given up on the eight friends who watched old Trump debates with him on Thursday nights, but if he’s interested in reviving it we have a programming suggestion — how about taping a dramatic reading of Art Laffer’s full 2007 Heritage Foundation speech? It’s got that same line regarding minimum wage

172 days until Election Day.
